Article 2493
Cost of Maintaining and Preserving the Pledge
(1)
The pledger must reimburse the pledgee for the expenses which the latter has paid for preservation and maintenance, including charges attached to the pledge that he has paid for; the pledge also serves as security for the reimbursement.
#(2)
The pledgee cannot claim from the pledger other expenses which he has incurred for the benefit of the pledge, unless he has made them with the consent of the pledger;
#(3)
the foregoing is without prejudice to the pledger’s liability arising from management of the affairs of another or from unjustified enrichment.
