Article 244
Power to Order Proof by Affidavit
(1)
At any time and for sufficient reason the court may order that any particular fact or facts be proved by affidavit, or that the affidavit of any witness be read at the hearing, on such conditions as it thinks reasonable.
#(2)
Where it appears to the court that either party desires the production of a witness for cross-examination, and that such witness can be produced, no order under sub-Article (1) shall be made.
