Article 58
Purposes of Sentencing
(1)
A criminal offence is punishable where the Court has found the offence proved and deserving of punishment.
#(2)
Punishment is intended to ensure the formation of a proper attitude towards work, the legal order, and the rules of social coexistence. It should not cause physical suffering to the offender or degrade his human dignity.
