Where cattle is given to another person’s farmer, notice shall be given to the holder of a land which is exploited by such farmer.

Where notice is not given, the holder may, notwithstanding any custom to the contrary, seize or retain the animals with a view to obtaining payment of his claims against the farmer.
It may not be alleged that he knew or should have known that the animals did not belong to his farmer.
