An employer who assigns an employee to travel and work temporarily outside his place of employment shall pay for the employee's travel, food, and lodging.

Payment may be in the form of reimbursement of expenses or a per diem allowance.
If the employee travels and works temporarily in areas designated by the government as hardship areas, the employer shall pay the employee an extra allowance which shall in no case be less than the allowance established by the government.
