The parties may agree on the procedure to be followed by the conciliator or conciliators. They may adopt rules of conciliation published by an institution.

If the parties do not agree on the procedure, the conciliator or conciliators may proceed in any manner consistent with the mission of negotiating a settlement between the parties.
Where the parties have appointed more than one conciliator, the conciliators shall, in principle, act jointly.
