If a register in a commune is lost or destroyed, the civil status officer of the commune shall, using the information stored in the duplicate registers, initiate immediately the recompilation of the registers.

If the duplicates of a register are lost or destroyed, they shall immediately be reconstituted on the initiative of the depositary of the duplicates lost or destroyed.
