At any stage of the suit the court may require the personal appearance of the secretary or any director or other principal officer of a body corporate who is able to answer material questions relating to the suit.

In any case in which the government pleader is not accompanied by any person on the part of the Government who may be able to answer material questions relating to the suit, the court may also require the attendance of such a person.
