Subject to Article 145 (6) – (8), previous convictions of an accused person shall not be introduced into evidence before the Court makes a finding of guilty or not guilty on the charge or charges.

The Court shall not receive or admit any evidence of previous convictions against the accused, or any other evidence of criminal conduct by the accused that does not form part of the charge against him, unless and until the Court makes a finding of guilty or not guilty on the charge or charges.
