Where the commission of the offence charged, as described in this Code or Proclamation creating it or as framed in the charge, includes the commission of another offence, the accused may be convicted, even if the original offence charged is not proved, of an included offence that is proved or of an attempt to commit the offence charged or an included offence.

Where the accused is charged with actual commission of an offence, he may be convicted of it if the evidence proves his participation in the offence as a secondary party and vice versa.
