encourages a child to beg; or
begs as a member of or at the direction of a group that carries on begging as a business,
is guilty of unlawful begging, a Class 2 petty offence, punishable with a definite term of imprisonment of not less than 1 month and not more than 6 months, or a fine of 5,001 – 20,000 Nakfas, to be set in intervals of 1,000 Nakfas.
The provisions of this Article shall not apply where members of a family solely carry out the encouragement or other activity.
