A person who, without the consent of the owner, takes a motor vehicle, vessel, or other mechanized property used for transportation, with intent to drive, use, navigate or operate it or cause it to be driven, used, navigated or operated,
is guilty of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle or vessel, a Class 3 petty offence, punishable with a definite term of imprisonment of not more than 1 month, or a fine of 500 – 5,000 Nakfas, to be set in intervals of 500 Nakfas.
