Final punishments that have not been executed shall not be enforceable when the following time periods have lapsed:

thirty years for a death sentence or imprisonment for life;
twenty years for any sentence of imprisonment of more than ten years and less than imprisonment for life;
ten years for any sentence of imprisonment of one year and less than ten years; or
five years for any other penalty.
The period of limitation shall run from the day on which the judgment becomes final and enforceable.
When the offender was granted the benefit of a suspension of the penalty, the period shall run from the day the suspension was cancelled and the penalty ordered.
