Article 2464
Simple Suretyship
(1)
Apart from the case mentioned in Article 2463, a surety shall not pay the creditor unless the principal debtor fails to perform his obligation.
#(2)
The surety may demand that the creditor, before requiring him to pay, should discuss the principal debtor's assets and, in particular, realize the real securities available.
