Article 68
Purpose of Pre-Trial Detention
The detention of an arrested person is justified only for the following reasons:

for the protection and safety of any person or the public, having regard for all the circumstances, including any substantial likelihood that the accused will, if he is released from custody, commit a criminal offence or interfere with the administration of justice.
