Article 597
Various Forms of Marriage Equivalent
(1)
The causes and effects of termination of marriage shall be the same according to whichever form the marriage is celebrated.
#(2)
In this respect, no distinction shall be made as to whether the marriage was celebrated before a civil status officer or according to the formalities prescribed by religion or custom.
