Article 88
Setting Trial Date
(1)
When the charge has been filed under Article 87, the Court shall forthwith fix the date of trial and cause the accused and the prosecutor to be summoned to appear for trial and, if the accused is in custody, it shall order such measures as are necessary to secure the attendance of the accused.
#(2)
The date for the commencement of the trial shall in all cases be not later than thirty (30) days after the filing of charges.
#(3)
The parties may request an extension of the periods described in sub-Article (2) but the Court shall not grant an extension unless it is satisfied that the parties, or the Court, cannot reasonably be prepared to proceed within the prescribed periods.
