Article 1551
New Prescription Period
(1)
The interruption of prescription of a right of action otherwise than by the institution of an action which is upheld starts a new prescription period as of the beginning of the following day. Where a binding opinion has been requested and obtained, the new prescription period begins to run at the beginning of the day following the one on which the binding opinion has been rendered.
#(2)
The new prescription period is equal to the original one but may not exceed five years. Nevertheless, the prescription is in no event completed until the time when the original period without interruption would have expired.
