Article 2653

The insured shall pay the agreed premium at the time specified in the policy.

Notwithstanding any provision to the contrary, the policy shall not terminate as of right when the premium is not paid in due time. The insurer shall demand payment.

Notwithstanding any provision to the contrary, the policy shall be suspended after one month from a demand under sub-Article (2) where the premium is not paid.

Where the period of one month has expired, the insurer may claim payment of the premium or require the termination of the policy.

Where the premium is paid, the policy shall re-enter into force on the day of payment.

The provisions of this Article shall not apply to life insurance.
