Article 135

Authorization

Proof by means of acts of notoriety may only be authorized by the Court where:

(a)

it is proved that the registers of civil status have not been kept or not been kept regularly or that they contain gaps;

(b)

it is proved that such registers have been lost or torn;

(c)

it is impossible or very difficult to obtain a copy of a record in such registers;

(d)

the person who refers to a record does not know in which place such record has been made, and such ignorance is excusable; or

(e)

the law so provides.
