Article 1688

Heirs

(1)

The victim’s heirs may claim compensation for the material injury suffered by the victim.

(2)

Save where otherwise provided by law, they may not claim compensation for the moral injury suffered by the victim unless an action for compensation for the moral injury has been initiated by the victim during his lifetime.

(3)

The successor of the person liable for the injury is liable as he himself was to make it good.
